Into the Heart of Compassion When we take the time to enter deeply into into our own self and open ourselves to mystery, we find our God waiting for us. "I will lead you to the desert where I will speak to your heart." (Hosea) Treat yourself to an evening, a day, a weekend...in quiet, simple comfortable space. Come at your own convenience. Sit quietly, read, sleep, speak to your deepest self. Maximum stay 8 days, 7 nights.
Cost: beginning at $20. Specific cost determined by length of stay, meals, etc.
The annual Tag Sale benefiting programs run by Grace Church Community Center takes place in the gym -- Kearney Sports Center at Good Counsel Campus, 52 North Broadway, white Plains, 10603 -- on Sat. The act of eating is not just a biological necessity. It is a very personal experience.
It can be used as a defense - against our own feelings, against our unconscious childhood wounds, and against what we perceive as a loss of power/control in our lives. This summer think about a directed retreat ~ a blend of silence, daily conversation with your director, both quiet prayer and communal prayer...in the inner and outer space that invites greater intimacy with God. If you are unable to come for the entire week, consider coming for a few days.
